CRESCENDO—Save Our Kids’ Music recently announced that clarinet player, Rick Liu, far left, a seventh-grader at Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School in the Pleasant Valley School District, was selected for the California All-State Middle School Concert Band as well as the Ventura County Middle School Honor Band. Cello player Peter Umipig, at left, an eighth-grader in the PVSD Youth Arts Academy, was selected for the California All-State Middle School Concert Orchestra. Rick and Peter traveled to Fresno to participate in the All-State Ensembles last month. Rick participated in the Ventura County Middle School Honor Band in January and February, which culminated in a Feb. 13 concert at Ventura High School.
