Music festival to bring big name musical performers, art and more to Camarillo

The newly named Camarillo’s Old town MusicFest will take place on September 22 and feature the E Family with Sheila E and american idol semi-finalist Kendra Chantelle.

Camarillo’s Old Town MusicFest has announced that The E Family featuring Sheila E, The J, and Peter Michael Escovedo will headline this year’s Old Town MusicFest (formerly known as the Art & Jazz Festival) Saturday, September 22, in historic Old Town Camarillo. Sheila E is an R&B legend and master percussionist.

Kendra recently recorded and released her debut album “UNTHINKABLE” produced by Elvis “Blac Elvis” Williams and Harold Lilly.

The entire event will run from 3:00 – 10:00 p.m., and includes something for everyone. In addition to the evening “Concert Under the Stars” the festival will include a local business expo hosted by the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, open artists’ studios for browsing at the Studio Channel Islands Art Studios on location, gourmet food trucks as well as a beer garden and wine tasting area. 2011 “American Idol” semifinalist Kendra Chantelle will open for the E Family at 6:00 p.m. with the E Family to hit the stage at 8:00 p.m. A third band will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the festival be- gin at $25 for general admission with festival seating (bring your blanket or chair) if you purchase ahead of time ($30 at the gate), and Music Circle tickets are $100 ($125 at the gate) and include a reserved chair and $20 voucher for food truck, wine or beer purchase. Students with proper ID get in for $15 while active duty military with a valid military ID get in for free.
