Atrial fibrillation topic of seminar

The Community Memorial Health System will present a free seminar about atrial fibrillation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Sat., Jan. 14 in the Soule Park banquet room at 1033 East Ojai Ave.

Dr. Ishu Rao, a board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist, will lead the seminar about atrial fibrillation—the most common heart rhythm abnormality in the United States.

In addition to discussing its potential treatment options and whether it is curable, Dr. Rao will also cover the AF ablation procedure and who might benefit from the procedure. He will provide tips on how to reduce the risk of stroke as well.

Auto center makes $10,000 donation

St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and St. John’s Healthcare Foundation conducted a tour of the center’s labor and delivery department Dec. 5 to thank Oxnard Auto Center Association for its $10,000 donation.

The gift was made in conjunction with a special St. John’s employee recognition event held in October by the Oxnard Auto Center to benefit St. John’s, which has one of the busiest labor and delivery departments in Ventura County.
