Eggs- they’re not just for breakfast anymore

The 28th annual California Egg Artistry Show and Sale will be Sat. and Sun., March 10 and 11 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Westlake Village. The show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Local, national and international artists will display works of art created from actual eggshells. From the tiny finch to the ostrich, each shell is marked, cut and decorated by hand.

Eggshells have been turned into working carousels, musical jewelry boxes, beaded clocks, miniature perfume bottles, Christmas tree ornaments and an egg-quarium with water and live fish.

The family friendly event will include seminars, workshops, displays, hourly door prize drawings and raffles.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 4.
