Police call for Neighborhood Watch

Due to the recent increase in property crimes in the city, the Camarillo Police Department encourages residents to participate in the Neighborhood Watch program.

One of the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the country, Neighborhood Watch brings citizens together with law enforcement to deter crime and make communities safer.

The program calls upon residents to assist police in organizing the community into a cohesive unit to discuss neighborhood crime problems in order to find solutions.

The Camarillo Police Department supplies crime information to neighborhood watch organizations and instructs these groups in crime prevention techniques.

Residents interested in participating in the Neighborhood Watch program or starting one can call Crime Prevention Officer Senior Dep. Virginia Tinoco at (805) 388-5130.
