Deputy director of healthcare agency retires
Recruitment is underway for replacement
The Ventura County Health Care Agency announced that Meloney Roy, licensed marriage and family therapist, retired from her position as deputy director effective July 15.
In April 2014, she filled the position left by Barry Fisher, who became the agency director.
Previous to her role as deputy director, Roy was the Ventura County Behavioral Health director. She joined the organization in 1996. Hired as a psychiatric social worker for the Phoenix School in Camarillo, she worked with seriously emotionally disturbed youths.
After being promoted to lead clinician in 2001, she assumed a supervisor mental health services position with the county and subsequent promotions as division manager and deputy director. She was appointed Behavioral Health director in October 2007.
Recruitment for her position is underway.
