Westlake Village Bakery to Franchise Nationwide
Founded in 2009 by CEO and former banking executive Arleen Scavone, Sweet Arleen’s is best known for back-to-back victorious appearances on the Food Network’s show “Cupcake Wars” due to its award-winning, fan-favorite cupcakes and sweet and savory bread puddings (Cooking Channel’s “Unique Sweets”).
The company’s commitment to provide a consistently happy customer experience with the highest quality delectable products is what sets Sweet Arleen’s apart.
The results have been exceptional, drawing loyal customers to its original Westlake Village location from across the country.
“This is such an exciting time for Sweet Arleen’s, and we are thrilled to offer fellow entrepreneurs the unique opportunity to operate their own Sweet Arleen’s,” Scavone says.
“Plain and simple, we know what perfect tastes like and our customers love it. Our customers are loyal because they love the way our products make them feel. The taste is real and so are we.”
The company is confident that franchising is the right strategy to grow the brand nationally. Its competitive niche is entering new markets where demand exists for a “not so sweet” cupcake alternative and access to delectable bread puddings otherwise only available in restaurants.
The parent company, Sweet Arleen’s International, has identified 25 primary markets nationwide that will be the focus of its initial franchise development.
SAI will concentrate on a limited number of high-quality single and multi-unit franchise partners. A hub-and-spoke model will allow franchisees to operate multiple locations within a specified region.
An option is available to operate a fully equipped mobile suite, which provides increased exposure and customer reach within respective markets.
Sweet Arleen’s has been featured in several national and regional media outlets such as “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” “KTLA Morning News” and Us Weekly.
Celebrities with a sweet tooth for Sweet Arleen’s like Britney Spears, Jennie Garth, Sylvester Stallone and Tori Spelling make regular trips to the flagship store to pick up orders. They often have Sweet Arleen’s cater weddings, showers and family events.
With the news of the nationwide rollout—a complete replica of product, process and promotion as well as the dayto day leadership by Scavone— now anyone can step inside a Sweet Arleen’s and know how “perfect” tastes.
