Optimists go the extra mile


WALKING ON SUNSHINE—Jaclyn Morales, 11, and her sister Alyssa, 13, participate in the inaugural Camarillo Noontime Optimist Club Walk for Youth fundraiser at Arneill Ranch Park on June 4. The afternoon event included refreshments, music, balloons, prizes and games. The money raised will be used by the service organization to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors and Christmas food baskets to families in need. Funds will also be used to sponsor the Red Ribbon Week writing contest and Junior Optimist clubs at local schools, as well as providing grants to local youths.
