Go Greek at fest
The 32nd annual Ventura County Greek Festival is scheduled for Friday to Sunday, June 25 to 27 at the Camarillo Airport.
Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday; 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
The event will have food, music, contests, international vendors, dancing, shows, jumpers, mommy and me and father and son crafts and activities.
In addition to the traditional gyros sandwiches, roasted lamb, grilled chicken, kebobs and salads, this year will feature lamb chops and Greek fries dusted with feta cheese and oregano in the calamari booth.
Other foods include loukaniko sausage, flaming saganaki cheese, spanakopita, tyropita, hummus, keftedes meatballs, vegetarian stuffed dolma grape leaves, feta and olives, Greek pastries, loukoumades and cookies.
Admission is $2 for adults and free for military families, firefighters and sworn officers with ID or badge.
Pets are not allowed except for service dogs.
The festival is sponsored by St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Camarillo.
