Girl, 17, reports an attempted sexual assault

Police have reported that a 17-year-old girl exiting the freeway at Carmen Drive at about 5 a.m. on Monday was told by another driver that her car had a flat tire. He offered to help her.

She drove to the parking lot at Carmen Plaza and got out of her car to examine the tire. When she realized it wasn’t flat, she quickly got back in her car.

The other driver had followed her to the lot. He got into her car, sitting on the passenger side, and reached over and touched her leg with his hand, according to the report. The girl told him to get out of her car and that she was calling a friend. The man left her car, got into his own and drove away.

The man is described as white, about 50 years old, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He drove a dark-colored Chevrolet four-door sedan with no front license plate.

Deputies arriving on the scene checked the area but did not find the subject.

The victim was not injured.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident are asked to call Crime Stoppers, (800) 222-8477, or the Camarillo Police Department, (805) 388-5100.
