Submissions sought for Spring ArtWalk

The city of Ventura Cultural Affairs Division invites artists to apply by 5 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 11 for Spring ArtWalk on Sat. and Sun., April 17 and 18.

The new application process requires registration and payment online only at www .venturaspringartwalk.eventbrite.com.

ArtWalk is a free, twice-peryear, self-guided weekend walking tour of 200 established and emerging artists at more than 80 galleries, studios and gallery-fora day venues in Ventura’s Downtown Cultural District and Ventura Avenue.

All types of fine visual art exhibits are welcome. Artists are invited to express themes of environmental awareness in their exhibited work because the celebration will take place the weekend before Earth Day, April 22.

Artists can use recycled or post-consumer products in their artworks or other sustainable materials or partner with an engineer. They can also submit their work to California Creative Waste of California for a chance to win cash prizes in a special exhibit at ArtWalk. For details, go to www.cwoca.com/cardboardchair.
