Give curling at twirl
      The SoCal Curling Club will host an open curling night at 7 p.m. Sat., Dec. 5 at the Simi Valley Iceoplex, 131 W. Easy St., Simi Valley. The club offers instruction in the Winter Olympic sport of curling and provides all equipment needed. Participants are advised to dress warmly and wear flatsoled athletic shoes.

Theme park entrance for price of toy
      Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia will offer free admission to anyone bringing a new, unwrapped toy valued at $15 or more to the theme park on Dec. 5, 6, 12 and 13. The toys are being collected for the park’s annual Toys for the Holidays drive. The price tag or receipt should be brought with the toy.

Tryouts set for ‘Seussical’ musical
      Auditions for “Seussical Jr.” will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sat., Dec. 5 and from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sun. and Mon., Dec. 6 and 7 at Conejo Players Theatre, 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. The show will be presented by Conejo Children’s Theatre.

Library sing-along
      Camarillo folksinger T.J. Zeller will present a sing-along program instead of the usual Storytime at 7 p.m. Tues., Dec. 8 at the children’s room, Camarillo Library, 4101 Las Posas Road. The program is free. All children and their parents are invited.

‘The Wedding Singer’ opens auditions
      Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi will present “The Wedding Singer,” a musical based on the 1998 Adam Sandler film, Feb. 27 through April 4, 2010, at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave. Auditions are by appointment only from 7 to 10 p.m. Mon. and Wed., Dec. 14 and 16 at the arts center.
