Therapist to speak

The local chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, DBSA Ventura, will host licensed marriage and family therapist Tamara Matzke to the confidential, peer-led meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tues., Dec. 1 at Room 301 of Building 300, Bible Fellowship Church, 6950 Ralston St., Ventura.

Matzke will talk about cognitive behavioral therapy and answer questions from attendees. All are welcome.

Matzke is a cognitive behavioral therapist who specializes in mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a “here and now” orientation, with an emphasis on changing thoughts which can positively affect mood and behaviors.
