Nonprofit groups unite to help growing ranks of needy
      With demand for their services continuing to increase, area nonprofits and public agencies have formed an alliance devoted to seeking community support so they can continue to assist people facing difficult times.

Therapist to speak
      The local chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, DBSA Ventura, will host licensed marriage and family therapist Tamara Matzke to the confidential, peer-led meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tues., Dec. 1 at Room 301 of Building 300, Bible Fellowship Church, 6950 Ralston St., Ventura.

Learn CPR
      The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services will offer the American Red Cross CPR and First Aid class for non-medical participants who need a course certification card.   The class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Nov. 21 at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center, 30610 Thousand Oaks Blvd. The cost is $60, along with a $25 non-refundable lab fee.
