Family, food and fun— Adolfo’s type of party

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!—Above, Camarillo resident Shane Speth, 4, takes his turn hitting the piñata during the Adolfo Camarillo Birthday Celebration at the Camarillo Ranch House on Oct. 25. The free event celebrated the 145th birthday of Adolfo Camarillo, the city’s namesake, and included pony rides, a petting zoo, an antiques show, music, dancing, crafts, stories and games. At right, Dennis Garcia performs a traditional Chumash Indian dance during the family event, reminding attendees of Pleasant Valley’s early history and rich cultural heritage.
