Songs put the giddyap into play
      Hard to believe the classic musical “Oklahoma!” is 66 years old. Camarillo Community Theatre presents the show with a cast of mostly young faces, many of them first-timers to this stage.

Silent movies a throwback to bygone era
      Two silent comedies accompanied by live organ music will be screened at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 23, in the sanctuary of Camarillo United Methodist Church, 291 Anacapa Drive. The showing is open to the public and is familyfriendly. A freewill offering will be taken.

Art gallery to host grand opening
      Studio Channel Islands Art Center, which has spent 12 years on the campus of California State University Channel Islands, will open a new gallery from 5 to 8 p.m. Fri., Oct. 30 at 2221 Ventura Blvd. in Old Town Camarillo. Gallery hours will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday or by appointment.
