Reagan Library to open Berlin Wall exhibit
      Twenty years ago next month, the Berlin Wall fell in Germany. First built in 1961 and more than 87 miles long, the concrete barrier that encircled West Berlin was called an “anti-fascist protection barrier” by the East German regime and a “scar” by President Ronald Reagan.

City will modify median on Mission Oaks to make roadway safer for motorists
      The City Council voted 4-1 last week to reconstruct a median on Mission Oaks Boulevard to allow left turns from Camarillo Ranch Road. “I think it’s a great decision,” said George Erb, owner of a physical therapy business on Camarillo Ranch Road, after the board’s vote.

Get spooked at the YMCA
      The Camarillo Family YMCA will host its annual Halloween at the Y event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fri., Oct. 23 at the Y, 3111 Village at the Park Drive, Camarillo. YMCA members and the community are invited to attend the free event, which will have carnival games and prizes, a cupcake walk, bounce houses and costume contests for children and adults.

Food pantry for pets needs donations
Drop-offs can be made at the Camarillo animal shelter
      During hard economic times, pet owners may have difficulty affording food for their animals. The Ventura County Animal Regulation has opened a Pet Pantry at the Camarillo Shelter. The pantry offers dry and canned dog and cat food and is open from 10 a.m. to noon Sundays or until the food runs out.
