Camarillo man president of arts council

Conejo Valley group to celebrate 40th anniversary

Rich Brimer of Camarillo is the new president of the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley.

Brimer works at Amgen in Newbury Park and is an artist specializing in plein air painting.

Other board members are vice president Georgeanne Lees of Newbury Park, treasurer John Pillsbury of Santa Rosa Valley, recording secretary Geri Schonberg of Westlake Village, corresponding secretary Theodora Ilowitz of Thousand Oaks and historian Gordon Durich of Westlake Village.

Also, director of finance and past president Pat Johnson of Westlake Village, director of membership Pat Grant of Thousand Oaks, director of programming Kitty Dill of Westlake Village and director of public relations and Galleria co-curator Connie Tunick of Thousand Oaks.

Also, director of hospitality Kathrin Raab-Questenberg of Westlake Village, member at large and Galleria co-curator Janet Amiri of Thousand Oaks and members at large Dorothy Hage, Margaret Travers and Elaine Williams, all of Newbury Park.

The Arts Council of the Conejo Valley celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Primary partners are the Conejo Recreation and Park District and the city of Thousand Oaks.

Upcoming events include WriteNights: Poetry on Sept. 30, and Sculpture on the Hill II in the Galleria with a public reception on Oct 10.

All events will take place at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
