Investigators target pot business On Sept. 10, narcotics investigators of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department completed a four-month investigation into marijuana sales occurring in Ventura County. Detectives became aware of “805 Delivery,” a marijuana delivery service advertising in Ventura County newspapers and on the Internet. 805 Delivery claimed to be exempt from prosecution by complying with Proposition 215, the Compassionate Use Act. Kim Lurie, 44, of Perris, Calif. was identified as the owner of the business, according to police reports. Hilton Gurfinkiel, 33, of Woodland Hills was employed as a delivery person. During the investigation, Lurie and Gurfinkiel sold marijuana to an undercover operative on multiple occasions. These sales were outside the legal parameters of Proposition 215 and in violation of California law. Lurie and Gurfinkiel were arrested for conspiracy to sell marijuana and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. |
