Wants to recall board

I have lost respect for the Pleasant Valley School Board.

The manner in which they blindly followed the lead of Superintendent Luis Villegas with regards to the dismissal of Julie Antilla-Garza as principal of Las Posas Elementary School was just atrocious.

Why would they treat someone like that without just cause and with no regard for the feelings of AntillaGarza, the parents and children at Las Posas School?

Ask those involved with the Santa Paula school district how Villegas treated their parents, staff, teachers and principals there, and you will see a pattern emerge.

In addition, the school board approved a budget which very few, if any, interested parties had an opportunity to review. Sure the 120-page budget is available if you want to pay for a copy or sit for hours in the district office to read it, but it was not available at the June 18 board meeting or anywhere online to read.

How can members of the community even comment on a budget that sits on the shelf in the district office?

Like all other politicians, the PVSD board preaches transparency but rarely, if ever, practice what they preach.

Maybe we should all consider this recall effort a little more seriously. Meaghan Sharp Ventura
