Free stop-smoking classes at CHCD

Free stop-smoking classes are scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Mondays, starting July 13, and from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, beginning July 16, at the Camarillo Health Care District, 3639 Las Posas Road.

For the Monday class, the last day to join is July 20, and sessions will end on Aug. 31.

For the Thursday class, the last day to join is July 23 and sessions will end Sept. 3.

Nicotine replacement therapy products will be available for free as well.

The program will cover smoking urges, stress and moods, weight and exercise, handling slips and lifestyle balance.

The classes are funded by tobacco settlement dollars through Ventura County Public Health, Tobacco Education and Prevention Program.
