Salsa Dash afoot tomorrow

The Oxnard Salsa Dash, a 5K and 10K run/walk through downtown Oxnard, will take place tomorrow, July 11, at Heritage Square, Eighth and A Streets in downtown Oxnard. The dash also includes a Kids' Fun Run.

Registration starts at 6:30 a.m. The Kids' Fun Run is 7:30 a.m., and the main race begins at 8 a.m.

This year will feature a friendly competition between Oxnard's fire and police departments.

The event is presented in partnership with Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. Proceeds from the race will benefit the society and efforts to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma.

Entry fee includes a race Tshirt and gift bag. Preregistration is $25 for 5K and $30 for 10K. Registration the day of the race is $5 more.

The Kids Dash is $15 and does not include a shirt.
