A little goes a long way One of the many annual summer events in Camarillo is the Concerts in the Park series. The first two concerts attracted more than 13,000 to Constitution Park on Carmen Drive next to Camarillo City Hall. In addition to concerts, we also show two family pictures on a wide screen with stereo sound. Volunteers on the Camarillo Arts Council are men and women of all ages who love music. We donate our time on Friday nights to set the stage lighting and sound systems. Many of you who attend donate generously when we ask for donations. We are nonprofit and your donations are taxdeductible. We are seeking donations via mail. If each concertgoer were to send in just $20, we could attract some great entertainers. Please make donations payable to the Camarillo Arts Council, P.O. Box 466, Camarillo, CA 93011. Our upcoming schedule includes: The Moorpark Symphony Orchestra on July 11, Steve Tyrell on July 25, Boomerang on Aug. 8, The Wonderelles on Aug. 22, the movie "Hotel for Dogs" on Aug. 29, and our annual finale, Raymond Michael as Elvis on Sept. 12. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. with early setup of chairs after 5 p.m. on Thursday before show nights. Rob Capellini Camarillo Capellini is a member of the Camarillo Arts Council |
