Wants others to join recall

A recall is in effect for the Pleasant Valley School Board.

Let's hold accountable the board for their political agendas, refusal to listen to opinions, failure to respond to questions, vilification of Las Posas Elementary School Principal Julie AntillaGarza and fiscal irresponsibility to the children in PVSD. While this began as a group of parents submitting concerns in regards to the demotion of Antilla-Garza, it has now become a communitywide effort.

I encourage anyone who has felt that our schools have been neglected to join in the recall.

Let's set the record straight regarding Mrs. Antilla-Garza. After her demotion, parents complained and asked questions of the board and district officials, who tired of hearing parent complaints so they put her on paid administrative leave and hired an interim principal. That decision cost the district $14,000.

That amount is equivalent to what the Las Posas Parent Teacher Committee pays for a physical education teacher. As a volunteer and fundraising parent, that appalls me.

I feel AntillaGarza was unfairly targeted by Linda Peralta, an assistant superintendent, who, I believe, has done the same thing to other principals in other districts.

Please join us in the recall. We all want what is best for the children of Camarillo. We can make things better and see that they get the education that they deserve. Julie El-Khoury Camarillo
