Is upset with school board

If we weren't already ashamed of our school district, recent actions taken by Pleasant Valley School District and the school board have given Camarillo residents another reason to be appalled. When the school board voted to remove Principal Julie Antilla-Garza from Las Posas Elementary School, it sent shock waves through our school community. Parents and students wrote letters, called the district and implored the board to reconsider their decision or at the very least explain themselves.

We were told it was none of our business.

Three weeks before the end of school, they locked Antilla-Garza out of her office, further disrupting the school environment.

But still we were told it was none of our business.

There are no formal charges, no criminal activity and no grievances on record for this administrator.

And yet, the district office disrupted our campus on the eve of our jogathon and three weeks before the end of school.

Students were in tears, parents confused and sides have been drawn.

How did the school board think this would not be disruptive to our school? Is the price the district paid really worth all this discontent? I hope the school board and PVSD listens now to parents. We are voters, and we do count! Michelle Aliano Camarillo
