Four Seabees sentenced in Camarillo murder
      Rebecca Braswell, 28, was sentenced to life without parole for her role in the shooting death of her ex-husband John Marmo, according to the district attorney's office. Matthew Toerner, 22, was also sentenced to life without parole for the murder, with an additional 25 years for use of a firearm.

Number of homeless in county has risen

PCH car chase
      Julio Pasillas, an 18-year-old Oxnard resident, was arrested June 6 after he led police on a chase along Pacific Coast Highway, ending when he rammed his car into one of the pursuing police cars, said the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

Go Greek
      The 31st annual Ventura County Greek Festival will take place today through Sunday, June 12 to 14 at the Camarillo Airport. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. today, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The event will have live music, food, pastries, folk dancing lessons, cooking demonstrations, imports, children's activities and games.

Skate park reopens doors
      The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District has reopened the Pleasant Valley Skate Park. The skate park has been newly renovated. Starting today, the skate park will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The skate park will be staffed by district employees.

Charges dropped
      All charges were dropped against Camarillo resident Morgan Dawson, 18, in connection with the May 26 burglary of a home in the 5000 block of Paseo Montelena in Camarillo. Tyler Evans, 18, and an unnamed 17-year-old male were also arrested in connection with the burglary. Both are Camarillo residents.
