Big day for local track stars
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers FULL SPEED AHEAD—Rio Mesa High's Jamison Jordan sprints to the finish line during the boys' 4x100 invitational relay during last Friday's Ventura County Track and Field Championships at Moorpark High. The Spartan boys finished second to St. Bonaventure in the race. Local girls' winners on the day included Rio Mesa's Sariana Hedgepeth (100-meter dash and 200) and Riley Nizdil (triple jump), as well as the Spartan 4x100 relay squad, which set a new meet record with a mark of 47.31 seconds. On the boys' side, Camarillo's Heyden Wooff won the 3,200 in 9 minutes, 15 seconds.

Oaks Christian closer to joining Marmonte
St. Bonaventure football team likely to remain in Channel League
      Forget about a new four-team football-only league featuring Oaks Christian, Grace Brethren, St. Bonaventure and Santa Clara. The CIF Releaguing Committee upheld appeals from the four schools during a hearing Wednesday morning at Los Alamitos.
