Student enjoys the sweet taste of success
     TURNING LEMONS INTO BOOKS—La Mariposa Elementary School third-grader Fallon Price, 9, stands with Sandy Hollister, La Mariposa's librarian, in front of Fallon's lemonade stand at Camarillo High School April 26. Fallon took part in Sunkist's "Take a Stand" program to buy books for her school's library. Through the nationwide program, Sunkist provides lemonade stands to youngsters looking to raise money for their favorite charities. Fallon held her sale, which earned more than $245, during a karate tournament at the high school. Both Fallon and Hollister are members of the Camarillo Shotokan Karate Do Center.

Camarillo High stages comedy
      Adolfo Camarillo High School will present the classic comedy "Arsenic and Old Lace" at 7:30 p.m. in the school's drama building, 4660 Mission Oaks Blvd., Camarillo. Show dates are May 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9.

      The Rio Mesa High School Concert Choir will participate in the annual high school benefit show, "Wishing Upon a Star," starring Dick Van Dyke at 4 p.m. Sun., May 10 at the Thousand Oak Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Students learn to be water-wise
      You're never too young to learn how to be green. So says Matthew Parker, Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District supervisor. As part of Earth Day, April 22, Parker taught kindergartners at La Mariposa School what they can do to conserve water.
