Harada earns Eagle award
WELL DONE!—David T. Harada, 15, of Camarillo received his Eagle Scout Award in a recent ceremony at Spanish Hills Country Club. The award was presented by Kent Allen, Scoutmaster of Troop 225. David is a member of Boy Scout Troop 225, sponsored by United Methodist Church, and joined Cub Scouts in the third grade with Pack 3841 at Camarillo Heights Elementary School. David earned his Arrow of Light in 2004 and bridged over to Troop 225. For his Eagle Scout project, David led a team of 26 volunteers who landscaped the parking lot at Monte Vista Middle School. The extensive project entailed removing potentially poisonous oleander plants, overgrown trees, shrubs and unwanted groundcover. Boxed trees and hundreds of one-gallon daylilies and star jasmine plants were donated from local nurseries and used to beautify the school. The project took more than 240 hours to complete. David is a sophomore at Rio Mesa High School and a member of the varsity golf team. He is also a member of the California Scholarship Federation. His parents are Gordon and Ruby Harada of Camarillo.
