Camarillo bird museum part of federal study
      A hush came over a group of teenagers on the trail at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa in Newbury Park as they listened to bird calls on a Friday morning in March. Peering through binoculars, the teens spotted a 13inch graywhite raptor calling from a treetop several hundred yards away.

      The Boys & Girls Club of Ventura will host its 16th annual garden party from 2 to 5 p.m. Sun., April 26 at Pierpoint Inn, 550 San Jon Road, Ventura. The event will feature a wine and food tasting as well as mellow jazz by Karl Keller's "Sax and the City" group.

Career fair for military next week
      The RecruitMilitary Career Fair will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thurs., April 16 at the Queen Mary, 1126 Queen's Hwy., Long Beach. The event is intended to help recently returning troops and other veterans, service workers and their spouses to find jobs. Attendees will be able to interview with national, regional and local employers.
