HISTORY LESSON—In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day on April 21, St. Mary Magdalen School seventh- and eighth-grade students listened to a special presentation earlier this month by Holocaust survivor Rose Judy De Liema, center. "For years I have considered writing my life story," De Liema says. "Not that I am so special, but the fact that I am still alive is a miracle." Born in Holland and now living in Mission Viejo, Calif., the 87-year-old spoke about her experiences in the concentration camps and how she met Anne Frank and her family. De Liema speaks at various schools to ensure the next generation remembers the atrocities committed during the Holocaust. More ...
