Teacher charged with sending sexually explicit text messages

A 29yearold teacher at Cornerstone Christian School was arrested March 26 for allegedly sending several sexually explicit text messages to a 16yearold female student, police said.

Camarillo resident David Woods was charged with sending communications to a minor with the intent to commit sexual offenses, according to police.

The administration at the private Camarillo school would not comment on Woods' arrest.

The school enrolls students in preschool through high school. Woods is not listed as a staff member on the school's website.

Woods has been released on bail and is due back in court April 6.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing and that detectives are asking any additional victims or potential witnesses to contact the Camarillo Police Department at (805) 388-5100.
