CHAMPS—The Knights basketball team took first place in the 11th annual March Gladness Basketball Tournament in Corona, Calif., March 26 to 28. The Knights beat the Arizona-based East Valley Athletes for Christ 7674 in the championship game on March 28 with a shot by Drew Sandahl in the final seconds of the game. The Knights' Matt Mergenthal earned tournament MVP honors, and Aaron Roth was named to the all-tournament team. The Knights are made up of students from the Christian Academic Support Association, a home school support group for more than 180 families in Camarillo and neighboring areas. More ... The Somis Thursday Club will meet at noon Thurs., April 9 at 5380 Bell St., Somis. The meeting will include lunch and a performance by the PVSD After School Band. Cost is $15 for lunch.
