Girls' Night Out

The United Women's Leadership Council will hold their second annual Girls' Night Out cocktail party from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mon., March 23, at the Whale's Tail Seafood House in Oxnard.

The event, which will benefit female foster youth ages 15 to 19 in preparing for emancipation, will feature a no-host bar, silent auction and hors d'oeuvres served by Meathead Movers in tuxedos.

The price is $30 per person or $50 per couple.

Gold Coast concert

Gold Coast Concert Chorus will present "Ventura County Gold" at 8 p.m. today, Fri., March 13, and 2 p.m. tomorrow, Sat., March 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1500 N. C St., Oxnard.

The show will feature works by Ventura County composers Ross Care, Wilbur Skeels, Emma Lou Diemer, Kenneth Helms, John Biggs and Miguel del Aquila.

Cost is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $5 for children 12 and under.

'Pirates of Penzance'

Camarillo Community Theatre's production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance" will run through Sun., March 15 at the theater, 330 Skyway Drive, Camarillo.

Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Ticket prices range from $10 to $18 and group rates are available.

Audience members who bring a nonperishable donation for Food Share will receive a free bag of popcorn.

First Ventura Film Fest

The inaugural Ventura Film Festival will be from Thurs., March 26 to Sun., March 29 at the Elks Lodge, 2126 Knoll Drive, Ventura.

More than 50 films and new media projects will be screened. The event will include a salute to filmmaker Robert M. Young.
