Rio Mesa soccer team's title run is one for the ages
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers A GROUP LIKE NO OTHER—They entered the CIFSouthern Section Division IV boys' soccer playoffs as wildcards and fifthplace finishers from the Pacific View League. When all was said and done, however, Rio Mesa High had accomplished what few thought they could: They won the whole thing. Behind a pair of goals from senior forward Javier Marquez, lying down, the Spartans defeated rival Channel Islands, 2-1, last weekend at Pacifica High to earn the first section soccer title in school history.
