Unearthing the wonders of science
     GREEN AND DELICIOUS—Students and staff from Las Colinas Middle School tend to the vegetable garden that was planted by summer school students. The program, which incorporates life science and environmental lessons, is led by Dianne Polen, the school's beautification and life lab adviser. The garden includes lettuce, radishes, bell peppers and carrots. Camarillobased soil maker Agromin provided soil for the garden and the school's landscape.

      Studio Channel Islands Art Center will present three exhibits beginning tomorrow, March 14, with an opening from 4 to 6 p.m. in building 18 on the campus of California State University Channel Islands. The exhibits will run through May 2.

Accomplished organist to perform
      Organist Hector Olivera will perform at 3 p.m. Sun., March 22 in the sanctuary of the Camarillo United Methodist Church, 291 Anacapa Drive, Camarillo. Olivera was born in Buenos Aires and had given 300 concerts by the time he was 18.
