Holocaust, Jewish studies scholar to speak
      The Temple Etz Chaim Men's Club will sponsor a Scholar-in-Residence Weekend: The History of Modern Israel from Friday to Sunday, March 20 to 22 at the synagogue, 1080 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. The scholar-in-residence will be Dr. Stephen M. Berk, professor of history at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. He is a scholar in Holocaust and Jewish studies.

Celebrate Purim
      Temple Ner Ami will hold a Purim celebration at 5 p.m. tonight, March 13 in the multipurpose room at the temple, 4098 Calle Tesoro, Camarillo. The program will include carnival games, a cake walk, bingo, a hamantashen contest, popcorn, cotton candy, pizza and pasta.
