The game, which Rio Mesa won 63-53, was one of two rivalry matches that were part of the inaugural "Ball It Up for Cancer," a fundraising evenfor cancer research co-hosted by the two high schools. On Jan. 21, Rio Mesa's boysvarsity basketball team hosted Camarillo High for the second game of the fundraising drive that netted more than $3,000. Rio Mesa won the boys' game 56-50.
