More ... The Humane Society of Ventura County is asking for the public's help to continue housing and treating 37 severely neglected horses that were rescued from a Lockwood Valley ranch on Oct. 8. A 20-stall portable barn, which local businessman David Murdock loaned to the Humane Society after the rescue, was being dismantled and moved this week. A new barn is needed. More ... United Way of Ventura County recently received $16,800 from the Monsanto Fund to support its Community Impact Fund, which focuses on education, income and health.
