Health care district plans upcoming events

The Camarillo Health Care District announces its upcoming events.

Unless otherwise noted, all events will be held at the center, 3639 E. Las Posas Road, Camarillo. For more information, or to register, call (805) 388-1952, ext. 100.

There is no charge to attend any of these groups.

•A caregiver support group is held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on the fourth Friday of each month. The group is for people who are the primary caregivers of loved ones.

Members share resources and offer support and educational opportunities regarding caregiving.

•MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club is held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays. The club is a national nonprofit organization for at-home mothers.

The group helps women feel good about the decision to stay home with their children.

Activities including park days, play groups and Moms' Night Out are planned during meetings. Children are welcome to meetings.

•An Al-Anon family study group is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays. The group is a fellowship of men, women and children whose lives have been affected by a friend or family member's drinking.

Course of miracles offered

Camarillo Health Care District will host Mysticism and a Course of Miracles at 7 p.m. Wed., Jan. 14 at 3639 E. Las Posas Road, Camarillo.

Author Jon Mundy, PhD, will discuss mysticism, metaphysics and miracles.

Mundy is the publisher of Miracles magazine, author of eight books and senior minister emeritus of Interfaith Fellowship.

Cost is $20 for Camarillo and Somis residents, $25 for outofarea residents.

District announces officers

The Camarillo Health Care District announces the officers for the 2008-2009 board of directors:

John T. Bailey, president; James DeckerMahin, vice president; Pamela Grothe, clerk of the board; Richard Loft, director, and Peggy O'Neill, director.

Bailey also serves the community through a variety of local and statewide committees, including the Association of California Healthcare Districts, the Ventura County Special District Association and the National Advisory Board of the University of Arizona's College of Pharmacy.
