YMCA to offer residential camps

The Camarillo Family YMCA is accepting enrollments for Y Summer Resident Camps. Signups are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Y camps offer opportunities to learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, make new friends and practice trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Activities include archery, challenge courses, swimming, canoeing, nature lore, crafts, campfires and nondenominational chapels.

Financial assistance/ Campership applications are available at the YMCA.

Camps are offered for youth entering grades four through six at Youth Camp, and grades seven through 12 at Teen Camp, both near the Sequoia National Park Sun., Aug. 3 through Sun., Aug. 10.

Transportation is provided from the Camarillo Family YMCA for teen and youth camps.

The Y is also looking for adults to volunteer as counselors for both resident camps.

In addition to the resident camps, the Camarillo Family YMCA will offer a variety of day camps throughout the summer. Day camps appeal to a range of interests and ages, providing fun and educational experiences in activities such as aquatics, science, sports, arts and crafts, and robotics.
