University opens newly renovated cafeteria

NOW SERVING- The newly renovated dining commons at California State University Channel Islands was designed by Santa Monica-based WWCOT Architects.
A new dining commons has opened at California State University Channel Islands. Designed by WWCOT Architects, an architecture and design firm, the project transformed an existing Missionstyle building into modernlooking spaces.

For the design of the dining commons, the original building was preserved, but architectural features were updated to meet the school's needs and the interiors were redesigned.

The redesign focused on minimizing barriers that impeded pedestrian traffic, as well as brightening the building, which has few windows, with bright colors and Moroccan-style lanterns.

The dining commons has become a farmer's marketstyle eatery with fresh produce as well as a variety of meal choices.
