WWII aircraft to fly into Camarillo next week
The Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour's four vintage WWII aircraft will make a stop at the Camarillo Airport on Mon., May 12 at 2 p.m.
The three restored bombers and a single P-51 Mustang will be on display from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mon., May 12; from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues., May 13 and 9 a.m. to noon Wed., May 14.
The bombers will include a B-17 flying fortress, a B-24 heavy bomber and a B25 medium bomber.
Visitors will be able to explore the aircraft inside and out. A donation of $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12 is requested.
Attendees may also take a 30minute flight aboard the aircraft. Cost is $425 to ride in the B-17 or B-24.
To take a flight in the B-25, cost is $400 for the front fuselage and $325 for the waist gun section. P-51 flights are $2,200 for a half hour and $3,200 for a full hour.
