Hare makes campaign stop at high school

Democratic 37th Assembly District Candidate David Hare spoke to students at Frontier High School and helped 18-year-old students register to vote last week.

Hare said that he was energized by the students' response to his presentation and the exchange of questions and discussion about the upcoming elections.

Students expressed concerns about the rising cost of gas, availability of affordable health care, the issue of gay marriage, the Iraq war, minimum wage, and other subjects.

"I think we sometimes underestimate young adults these days," said Hare. "They are very aware and concerned about the issues and problems facing this county, state and nation."

During his three hours at the Camarillo campus, Hare spoke to approximately 120 students and about 45 new voters were registered.
