Play has own take on 'Shrek'
The all-volunteer troupe Gypsies in a Trunk will continue its 14th season of free Fairy Tales in the Park live theater with its adaptation "Shrek: Tales From the Swamp," which features the characters of Shrek, Fiona and Donkey.

All family friendly performances are held in outdoor settings throughout Ventura County locations.

Lawn seating is available at all sites. Attendees may bring blankets or lawn chairs for seatingsnacks and picnic lunches.

Pets should be left at home. Performances are free to the public, but donations are appreciated.

Performances will be presented as follows: 11 a.m. May 3, Foxfield Park in Westlake Village; 4 p.m. May 3, Rancho Simi Amphitheater in Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Ave., Simi Valley; 2 p.m. May 4, Harbor View Park, Channel Islands Harbor; 11:30 a.m. May 10, Community Recreation Center, 1605 E Burnley St., Camarillo.
