Soroptimists award grant to Egyptian professor Clubs in the Camino Real Region of Soroptimist International have awarded a Friendship Grant to Dr. Nagwa Hassan Mohamed, a member of SI in Cairo, Egypt. Mohamed will spend three weeks in April and May as a guest of the region and attend the Region Spring Conference. During her stay she will be hosted by seven Soroptimist Clubs in Los Angeles and Ventura counties and will be a guest in Camarillo from April 25 to 28. Mohamed is a professor of childhood studies and head of the research and application of complementary and alternative medicine department at the National Research Center in Egypt. Her interest is complementary medicine. In addition to being the president of Soroptimist International of Cairo twice, she has been active on many committees of SI Europe Federation. The Friendship Grant is part of the International Goodwill and Understanding mission of Soroptimist, which encourages an exchange of information about club life, culture and professions. Activities planned for Mohamed's visit with the Soroptimist Club of Camarillo include a tour of the Cal State Channel Islands campus, a visit to the Reagan Library and evening socials.
