TOUGH QUESTIONS- Camarillo Heights Elementary School fifth-grader Kelsey Blois, 11, ponders a particularly difficult question during the Superquiz finals of the Camarillo Academic Olympics on Friday night at Monte Vista Middle School. More than 2,000 public and private school students from Camarillo and Somis competed in the citywide competition, which is divided into two divisions and covers 10 subjects. The Camarillo Academic Olympics began in February and wrapped up with the final round of the Superquiz. According to event chair Frank Roth, nearly 400 volunteers were needed to make the competition possible. In this year's Superquiz, St. Mary Magdalen School took first place in Division I, made up of sixth- , seventh- and eighth-grade students, while the Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education took first in Division II, composed of fourth- and fifth-grade students. Congratulations to all participating students, who proved Camarillo is one smart place to live.
