Audubon schedule for May
Field trips to offer diverse settings

The Conejo Audubon Society has announced their events calendar for May.

Elzbet Diaz de Leon will present "The Carbon Diet" at 7:30 p.m. Mon., May 5 at the Western Foundation for Vertebrate Zoology at 439 Calle San Pablo, Camarillo.

Diaz de Leon will discuss what community members can do to help avoid global disaster.

•A trip into the Sierra Vista/ Santa Monica Mountains Recreation area will be held 8 a.m. Sun., May 11.

The group will look for lazuli bunting, blue grosbeak, white tailed kite, sparrows, meadowlark and roadrunner.

•Rich Congersky will lead a Malibu Creek State Park trip at 8 a.m. Sat., May 17 to look for hawks, sparrows, woodpeckers, bluebirds and orioles.

•A trip to Wheeler Gorge State Park will be held 8 a.m. Sun., May 25.

The group will look for neotropical migrants at the park, then move up to Rose Valley for a picnic lunch.
