Foundation awards more than $400,000 in grants
Organizations include Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo

The Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation recently completed one of two annual grant cycles and awarded $425,000 in grants to organizations supporting children and adolescents in Ventura County.

Grants were awarded to the following:

Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo- $50,000

Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo and Las Virgenes- $50,000

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme- $100,000

Boys & Girls Club of Ventura- $90,000

Concerned Resource and Environmental Workers- $25,000

Easter Seals Tri-Counties California- $5,000

RAIN Communities Inc.- $70,000

Help of Ojai- $15,000

Support for the Kids- $20,000

Additionally, a three-year clinical research grant of $105,000 per year was awarded to Dr. Joshua Schiffman and Stanford University School of Medicine to support research focused on pediatric cancer.

The late Harriet H. Samuelsson, an Oxnard philanthropist, created the foundation with her estate.

The foundation distributes approximately $1.35 million each year in two grant cycles.

Qualified organizations that support cancer research or children and adolescents in Ventura County may apply for funding by submitting a letter of inquiry at www.samuelssonfoundation.org.
