Rio School District opens enrollment for magnet program

The Rio School District is holding open enrollment for incoming kindergarten students for its Dual Immersion Magnet Program. An information meeting for parents interested in the program will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thurs., April 17 at Rio Real Elementary School, 1140 Kenney Street, Oxnard.

Parents can visit dual immersion kindergarten classes during the weeks of April 21 and April 28.

The program is open to students countywide and runs from kindergarten through fifth grade. The goal is for students to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural in English and Spanish.
